2 1/2 pounds boneless skinless
chicken breasts, cut into pieces
3 1/2 cups water
1 onion chopped
1/2 tsp basil
1/4 tsp marjoram
2 bay leaves
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
3-4 carrots
3-4 pieces celery
2 cups Bisquick
2/3 cup milk
1/4 cup flour
1/2 cup water
In large pot, add onion, chicken, 3c water, marjoram, basil, bay leaves, salt,
and pepper. Bring to boil, simmer 40 minutes. While it's simmering, cut carrots
and celery into slices.
Add carrots and celery, bring to boil, then simmer for 20 minutes.
Mix 2 cups Bisquick and 2/3 cup milk. Drop dumplings on top of chicken. Simmer uncovered 10 minutes, and then covered for 10 minutes.
Remove chicken and dumplings. Mix flour and water, then add to gravy, salt to taste. Bring to boil, then turn off heat.
